A warm welcome to Thomas Funke, our new CFO!

We are therefore all the more pleased that we have been able to recruit Thomas Funke, a proven financial expert, for the newly created role of CFO. He brings many years of financial experience and expertise from a wide range of industries to the company.

Personal details:
Thomas Funke looks back on an exciting career. He first chose the path of the German Armed Forces and enlisted for 10 years before leaving as a Hauptfeldwebel and switching to business. While working, he studied business administration and tax law and then worked for many years as a part-time lecturer at the Rheinische Fachhochschule in Cologne while supporting small and medium-sized companies in setting up and expanding their finance function. After a stint at an auditing firm, he was drawn to Unitymedia, where he ultimately rose to CFO. After the sale of Unitymedia to Vodafone, Thomas Funke focused on transformation projects in finance. He supported various companies from different industries in the further development of their finance functions. Most recently, he was CFO at Internetstores GmbH, an e-commerce company specialising in the outdoor/sports sector with fahrrad.de and campz.de, among others. Thomas Funke has been CFO of ERR European Rail Rent GmbH since 1 October 2023.
